1. Scope and acceptance
An enquiry, quotation or payment does not by itself create a solicitor-client retainer. Phrasing Legal accepts work only when the service, scope, responsibility and fee have been confirmed in writing. Any work outside that scope requires separate agreement.
2. Fees, VAT and third-party costs
The written fee confirmation will state the professional fee and whether VAT, disbursements or other third-party costs apply. The online payment facility is for agreed professional fees only. It must not be used for client money, settlement funds, money on account, court fees or other third-party funds unless expressly authorised through a suitable regulated arrangement.
3. Online payments
Payment links are issued for a specific service and amount. Please verify the reference and amount before paying. Payment is recorded only when the payment provider confirms completion. Keep the confirmation for your records.
4. Promotional offers
Any advance-payment saving is discretionary and applies only when it is shown in the written quotation or payment record. The applicable rate or fixed amount, eligibility, maximum saving and closing date are those recorded when the payment request is created. An offer may be changed or withdrawn for future requests, but an offer already recorded for a client will not be changed retrospectively. Offers cannot be combined and do not apply to VAT, disbursements, third-party costs, regulated immigration work or authorised referral-provider charges unless expressly stated.
5. Cancellation and refunds
Any statutory cancellation rights remain unaffected. If you ask for work to begin during an applicable cancellation period, you may be required to pay a proportionate amount for work performed before cancellation. Where a service has been fully performed following the required request and acknowledgement, the right to cancel may be lost. Approved refunds are normally returned to the original payment method; processing times depend on the payment provider.
6. Deadlines and communications
You remain responsible for court, tribunal, Home Office and other deadlines unless Phrasing Legal has expressly accepted responsibility in writing. A payment or automated acknowledgement is not confirmation that responsibility for a deadline has been accepted.
7. Regulatory position and complaints
Phrasing Ltd trades as Phrasing Legal and is not itself authorised or regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority. Where work is undertaken personally by Muhammad Arshed as an individually regulated solicitor, the written engagement will identify that basis and scope. Reserved or separately regulated work may require an authorised referral provider. Complaints should be raised using the procedure stated in the written engagement and the website’s regulatory information.
8. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, subject to any mandatory consumer protections that apply.
