How we may assist
- Identify the purpose of the affidavit and the facts that need to be addressed
- Organise events into a clear chronology and draft factual paragraphs in an appropriate structure
- Review and organise documents intended to be referred to as exhibits
- Check the draft for internal consistency, clarity and obvious gaps before finalisation
- Explain the separate step required if the completed affidavit must be sworn or affirmed before an authorised person
When this service may be useful
- You have been asked to provide affidavit evidence and need help turning the facts into a structured document.
- You have supporting documents that need to be organised and referenced coherently.
- You are managing a matter yourself and need drafting assistance without Phrasing Legal taking over conduct of proceedings.
- You need the drafting completed before arranging the separate oath or affirmation.
What you can expect
We focus on the specific legal task you want completed. We review the available information, identify any important date, clarify the outcome you are seeking and then confirm the proposed work before substantive time is incurred.
- Affidavit draft
- Chronology where useful
- Exhibit/document schedule
- Finalisation checklist and separate oath/affirmation handover
How it works
- Send the essentials: a concise summary, the key document and any deadline.
- Suitability check: we assess whether the requested task falls within our lawful and professional scope.
- Scope and price: we confirm what is included, important exclusions, who will undertake or supervise the work and the fee or charging basis.
- Advice or drafting: we complete the agreed work and explain the practical next step.
- Referral where required: if reserved, separately regulated or specialist work is needed, we explain that clearly rather than extending the service beyond its proper scope.
Scope and regulatory limits
This service covers drafting and preparation only. The formal administration of an oath or affirmation is a reserved legal activity and is not supplied through Phrasing Ltd. If the affidavit must be sworn or affirmed, that formal step must be completed separately before an appropriately authorised person. Phrasing Legal does not conduct court litigation merely because the affidavit is intended for use in proceedings.
Whether an activity is reserved or separately regulated depends on the substance of the work, not merely the name used for the service. We therefore assess the requested task before accepting instructions.
