How we may assist
- Identify that a requested next step appears to require reserved or separately regulated legal work
- Explain the distinction between Phrasing Legal and a proposed authorised provider
- Disclose any professional connection between the solicitor and the receiving firm before you decide whether to proceed
- With your consent, provide a concise factual referral summary and forward limited documents where appropriate
- Signpost you to the receiving firm’s own regulatory information and current service details
- Where suitable, route enquiries for document certification, certified copies, statutory declarations or administration of oaths to an authorised solicitor or authorised firm
- Provide the selected firm’s verified public contact and SRA-register links where a specific referral route is identified
- Explain that the receiving firm independently decides whether to accept the matter and issues its own retainer and fee quote
When this service may be useful
- You want a solicitor to formally conduct court or tribunal proceedings or represent you at a hearing.
- Your family matter has reached a formal Family Court stage, including a consent-order application or contested proceedings.
- You need conveyancing, Land Registry, probate application, estate administration involving reserved work or another reserved legal activity.
- You need substantive immigration or asylum advice, an application, Home Office representations, review, appeal or advocacy.
- You need a solicitor to certify documents or copies, or you require a statutory declaration or administration of an oath and an authorised provider is required.
- Your employment, personal-injury, criminal or other dispute requires regulated claims work, court representation or formal litigation beyond Phrasing Legal’s scope.
- You want continuity with an SRA-authorised practice for a stage that Phrasing Legal cannot lawfully provide.
What you can expect
We focus on the specific legal task you want completed. We review the available information, identify any important date, clarify the outcome you are seeking and then confirm the proposed work before substantive time is incurred.
- Regulatory-boundary explanation
- Reserved-activity signposting
- Optional authorised-provider referral
- Document-certification / oath-service routing where appropriate
- Disclosure of any relevant professional connection
- Factual referral summary with consent
- Clear handover point and responsibility statement
How it works
- Send the essentials: a concise summary, the key document and any deadline.
- Suitability check: we assess whether the requested task falls within our lawful and professional scope.
- Scope and price: we confirm what is included, important exclusions, who will undertake or supervise the work and the fee or charging basis.
- Advice or drafting: we complete the agreed work and explain the practical next step.
- Referral where required: if reserved, separately regulated or specialist work is needed, we explain that clearly rather than extending the service beyond its proper scope.
Guide fees for this service
These guide prices apply to clearly defined work of ordinary complexity. Before substantive work begins, we confirm the task, the person providing or supervising it and the price or charging basis in writing. Your written quote will confirm the VAT treatment and the total price payable before substantive work begins. Please complete the VAT setting in Appearance → Customise for a definitive public statement.
| Initial authorised-firm routing / referral | No charge |
| Factual handover summary and administrative document forwarding where appropriate | No charge |
| Document certification / certified copies through an authorised provider | Quoted separately by that provider |
| Statutory declaration / oath service through an authorised provider | Statutory or provider fee as applicable |
| Substantive work by the receiving authorised firm | Quoted separately by that firm |
Urgency, unusually large document volumes, additional conferences or work outside the agreed scope may require a revised quote. We will normally agree that with you before carrying out the additional work.
Scope and regulatory limits
This is a referral and handover service, not a promise that any particular firm will accept instructions. Phrasing Legal does not use the referral to provide reserved activities, substantive immigration advice, regulated claims-management services or other work that requires separate authorisation. Each receiving provider carries out its own conflict, identity, AML, competence and risk checks as applicable and confirms its own scope, fees, insurance, complaints arrangements and responsibility for deadlines. The client remains free to instruct any appropriately authorised provider.
Whether an activity is reserved or separately regulated depends on the substance of the work, not merely the name used for the service. We therefore assess the requested task before accepting instructions.
