How we may assist

  • Receive factual enquiries about visit visas, spouse and partner routes, family and dependant visas, work and study routes, FLR applications, settlement, citizenship, asylum, reviews and appeals
  • Identify the broad category and any stated deadline so the enquiry can be routed appropriately, without assessing eligibility or giving case-specific immigration advice
  • Signpost enquirers to the Immigration Advice Authority Adviser Finder or another appropriately authorised immigration provider
  • With the enquirer’s consent, refer the matter to an appropriately authorised provider where a suitable referral route is available
  • Forward or organise limited background documents for referral where this is purely administrative and does not amount to immigration advice or services
  • Explain that any substantive immigration advice, application preparation, representations or appeal work will be supplied under a separate retainer by the authorised provider

When this service may be useful

  • You want regulated advice about a UK visit visa, spouse or partner visa, dependant route, work or study route, settlement or citizenship.

  • Broad-category routing only
  • General signposting information
  • Home Office correspondence identification and deadline flagging for referral
  • Authorised-provider referral where available and consented to
  • Limited administrative document forwarding where lawful
  • Clear confirmation that substantive immigration advice and fees belong to the separately instructed authorised provider

IF AUTHORISED REPRESENTATION IS NEEDED

Your authorised-provider options

If this matter needs formal regulated representation, possible referral routes may include Lexnova Solicitors LLP (SRA No. 8008259), subject to suitability, your informed choice and the receiving firm’s independent acceptance.

You are not required to use a suggested provider. Any referral is subject to your informed consent and the receiving provider’s independent conflict, onboarding, competence and risk checks. The receiving provider issues its own client-care letter, confirms its own fees and regulatory protections, and does not become responsible for your matter or any deadline until it expressly accepts instructions.

How the referral process works

  1. Tell us the broad issue: identify the visa, status, Home Office decision or protection issue if you know it, and tell us any deadline.
  2. Factual routing only: we use the information only to identify the broad category and appropriate regulated route; we do not assess legal merits or eligibility.
  3. Signposting or referral: we may direct you to the IAA Adviser Finder or, with your consent, refer you to a suitable authorised provider where a referral route is available.
  4. Separate acceptance: the authorised provider independently decides whether it can accept your matter and completes its own checks and client-care process.
  5. Advice and fees come from that provider: substantive immigration advice, application preparation, representations or appeal work are then supplied under that provider’s separate retainer.

No immigration advice fee is charged by Phrasing Legal

Initial routing, general signposting and an authorised-provider referral are offered without charge. If you instruct the authorised provider, that provider will issue its own client-care information and quote for any substantive immigration advice or service.

Scope and regulatory limits

Phrasing Legal is not an IAA-authorised immigration practice and is not an SRA-authorised law firm. Phrasing Legal does not assess immigration eligibility, recommend an immigration route for a particular person, advise on the legal significance of evidence, complete immigration forms, draft substantive immigration or asylum representations, submit applications, correspond with the Home Office as immigration representative, prepare immigration appeals or provide immigration advocacy. The individual solicitor’s SRA status does not by itself authorise Phrasing Legal to provide immigration work to the public.

Whether an activity is reserved or separately regulated depends on the substance of the work, not merely the name used for the service. We therefore assess the requested task before accepting instructions.
